L'esemplare che ho osservato cantava giorno e notte. Il canto consiste in una serie di forti e melodiosi "cri" (versi) ripetuti senza regolarità con un ritmo di 1 - 4 al sec. Tutti i versi di una serie sono pressochè uguali (a parte un leggero crescendo) e consistono di 2 - 6 sillabe. E' probabile che abbia registrato delle stridulazioni di tipo aggressivo, visto che l'esemplare era da solo in un gruppo di 10 Acheta domesticus.
The specimen that I observed sang at daytime and during the night. The song consists of a series of loud melodious "kree"-sounds (echemes), repeated without regularity at the rate of about 1 - 4/s. All echemes in a series are about equal (apart from a slight crescendo), consisting of 2 - 6 syllables. It's probable that I recorded aggressive stridulations, because the specimen was alone in a group of 10 Acheta domesticus.
